This role requires deep expertise in backend services development, DevOps, programmatic infrastructure / Infrastructure As Code (IaC), and Site Reliability Engineering to ensure the stability and performance of our internal and client product initiatives. You will be instrumental in standing up, scaling, and supporting complete backends as well as individual services, including deployed AI agents and agentic infrastructure.</p> <p>As a consultancy, the needs and technology stacks of our clients can range widely across projects, as such we are looking for candidates with breadth of expertise and a flexible mindset. Our product development focus leans heavily towards cloud infrastructure and more recently towards deployment of AI agents and agentic infrastructure.   </p> <h3><strong>Responsibilities</strong></h3> <h4><strong>Platform & Infrastructure</strong></h4> <ul> <li>Design, implement, and manage cloud infrastructure using programmatic tools such as Terraform, OpenTofu,<strong> </strong>or similar.</li> <li>Build and manage staged development environments and corresponding CI/CD pipelines to ensure rapid, reliable, and automated deployments.</li> <li>Oversee observability, monitoring, logging, and alerting systems for performance, usage metrics, and security.</li> <li>Establish best practices for security, compliance, and cost optimization within cloud deployments.</li> <li>Build, deploy, and manage individual services, including autonomous agents, ensuring they are scalable and performant.</li> </ul> <h4><strong>Backend Development & Integration</strong></h4> <ul> <li>Develop, deploy, and scale robust backend services and microservices, with a focus on high availability and resilience.</li> <li>Develop and maintain robust backend APIs and integration services. Strong working knowledge of API design and expertise with GraphQL deployment.</li> <li>Working knowledge or backend architectural patterns and their application. </li> <li>Collaboration with front-end teams for services integrations and performance.</li> </ul> <h3><strong>Qualifications</strong></h3> <ul> <li>6+ years of experience as a <strong>Backend or Full Stack Engineer</strong> with a strong emphasis on DevOps, programmatic infrastructure and/or Site Reliability Engineering (SRE).</li> <li>Expertise in programmatic infrastructure and cloud resource management using infrastructure-as-code tooling.</li> <li>Strong experience with one or more of the major cloud platforms (e.g., GCP, AWS, or Azure).</li> <li>Deep proficiency in at least one modern backend language (e.g., Python, Typescript, Go, Java/Kotlin, C#, or Rust).</li> <li>Solid experience designing and scaling production backends, building and deploying custom services, and utilizing cloud managed services.</li> <li>Experience with containerization and orchestration technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).</li> <li>Familiarity with feature-flagging and staged product rollouts.</li> <li>Experience implementing and managing observability, logging, and alerting systems.</li> <li>Comfortable working in fast-paced environments with evolving requirements.</li> <li>All resumes must be in English</li> <li>Must be fluent in English (level 3)</li> </ul> <h3><strong>Nice to haves</strong></h3> <ul> <li>Certification from one or more cloud platform (GCP, AWS, or Azure)</li> <li>Experience building and scaling AI-powered services or agents.</li> <li>Anthropic or other AI certification (e.g., Claude Certified Architect Foundations).</li> </ul> <h2><strong>***Total Rewards For US Based Candidates***</strong></h2> <p>VGV wants all employees to be supported in their personal and professional development, so we take a comprehensive approach to compensation and benefits. The initial annual base salary for this position is expected to range from $175k-$205k based on experience and location.
